James Gravelle, Head Coach of the Windsor Lancers men's volleyball team is pleased to announce the signing of local standout Matt Pe Benito for the 2015-16 season.

Pe Benito was a four-sport athlete at Villanova High School where he captained the volleyball and basketball teams, ran track and field and was a team leader on the baseball field. This past year, his outstanding achievements in athletics earned him the Hadre Cup as the top overall WECSAA student-athlete as selected by WECSAA athletic directors.

On the volleyball court, Matt led his Villanova squad to the WECSAA AAA championship this past season while also contributing to his Riverside Rage club team for the past several seasons.

Considered an outstanding setter with the versatility to play libero as well, Pe Benito is expected to get an opportunity to compete for minutes immediately when he arrives on campus this fall.

"We are excited to add Matt to our Lancer Volleyball program," commented Coach Gravelle. "He is a tremendous leader and the type of person we are looking to be part of our prorgram. We think he is a great fit with our team and we are looking forward to seeing him develop over the course of his career."

Also an outstanding student in the classroom, Matt will be studying in the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor this fall.
