The Windsor Lancers in partnership with Queen's University and Ontario University Athletics (OUA), are excited to announce that the women's basketball team will be facing off against the Gaels on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016 at the Enercare Centre in Toronto.
Â
"I want to thank the OUA for organizing such an event and Queen's for agreeing to this opportunity," Lancer head coach Chantal Vallée said. "It will be the experience of a lifetime for each of our programs to be part of an NBA All-Star Weekend and we will all cherish these memories for our lifetime."
Â
The game, which was originally scheduled to be held at the Athletics and Recreation Centre in Kingston, Ont., will be part of the festivities surrounding the 2016 NBA All-Star Game. Tipoff between the Gaels and Lancers is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
Â
"We are extremely excited to be involved with such a high profile event," said Leslie Dal Cin, Executive Director, Athletics and Recreation. "This opportunity for our student-athletes to represent Queen's and showcase the competitiveness and talent of OUA women's basketball in front of an NBA audience is tremendous."
Â
This game will be one of two OUA regular season games played during the NBA's All-Star weekend. On Sunday, the men will take to the court as the Ryerson Rams battle the crosstown rival University of Toronto Varsity Blues.
