Track & Field head coach
Brett Lumley and assistant coach Kurt Downes have been named to the Canadian coaching staff for the 2016 IAAF World Junior Championships, as announced by Athletics Canada.
Â
Lumley will serve as head coach while Downes will serve as jumps and combined events coach for the Canadian team at the championships, which will take place in July 2016. A location for the event is still being determined as Kazan, Russia, the original host of the event, had to back out.
Â
"It is a tremendous honour to once again represent my country at such a prestigious meet," Lumley said. "I am excited to work with some of the best athletes in the country and to show the world what we can do."
Â
This is the fifth time that Lumley has represented the Red & White, having previously been a part of national team staff at the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships, the 2001 World Youth championships, and the 2007 & 2009 FISU World University Games
