Windsor Basketball falls to Southern in double OT

The Lancer men's basketball team fell 76-71 to NCAA Division I Southern University in double overtime on Wednesday night at the St. Denis Centre in Windsor's first game of the NCAA/OUA Tip-Off Classic.
 
Newcomer Alex Campbell led the Lancers with 18 points, while fifth year senior Lien Phillip had a game high 20 rebounds. Calvin Godfrey led the visiting Jaguars with 17 points, 16 rebounds.

Campbell was 3-for-6 from three-point range and also picked up seven rebounds for the Blue & Gold. Evan Matthews chipped in with 12 points with six rebounds and Roland Shannonhouse added 11 points. Fifth year point guard Josh Collins had 13 assists and six rebounds in 36 of play.
 
It was a tight match from start to finish, as the lead changed hands 17 times throughout the match and the score remained within one basket for all of regulation and the first overtime.

Windsor will host Marshall University on Saturday night at the St. Denis Centre. Tip-off is set for 7:00pm, and admission is only $5.
