Lien Phillip named CIS all-Canadian

Lancer power forward Lien Phillip has been named a CIS men's basketball second team all-Canadian, as announced by the CIS on Wednesday.

Phillip, a St. Mark's Grenada native, had another terrific season for the Lancers as he established himself as the premier big man in the province. He averaged 15 points and 10.6 rebounds per game in helping Windsor finish in first place in the OUA West with a 16-5 record and the No. 5 ranking in the CIS.

Lien is without question one of the most talented forwards in Canada. This season, he elevated his game even further and become a great distributor and defender as well.

Arguably the most dominant rebounder in the country, Phillip finished first in the OUA and second in the nation in rebounding this season to be named the OUA West division player of the year and a first team all-star.

"This season, Lien became our leader and the best player on our nationally ranked team. The level of excellence and the consistency at which he has scored and rebounded this year in my mind puts him on par with any player in the country,” said Lancer head coach Chris Oliver. “Additionally, Lien is a tremendous presence on defense where he blocks, rebounds and changes shots with his activity and length. In the OUA and CIS, Lien's production speaks for itself and worthy of all-Canadian selection.”
