History was made at Friday night's women's basketball home opener at the St. Denis Centre, where the Windsor Lancers picked up a hard fought 58-53 victory over the gritty Carleton Ravens.

Fourth-year forward Jessica Clemencon became the all-time Lancers women's basketball scoring leader midway through the third quarter with a lay-up at the 6:25 mark of the period.

The native of St. Rambert, France and former CIS player of the year passed Lancer Women's Basketball alum Dranadia Roc, who held the previous record with 1,129 in her three-year career for the Lancers.

Clemencon finished the game with a team-high 16 points and a game-high eight rebounds to help spur the CIS #1 ranked Lancers to their first win of the season.  The CIS two-time national champion and 2011 BLG recipient as the Canadian University Female Athlete of the Year has totalled 1,135 points in her career and will look to continue adding to her school record throughout the season.

The Lancers are back on the St. Denis Centre court on Saturday evening where they will take on the defending OUA champion Ottawa Gee-Gees.  Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
