Lancers finish 3rd, 6th at CIS Championships

The Lancer cross country team turned in two strong performances at the CIS Cross Country National Championships held in London on Saturday.

The Lancer men claimed a bronze medal, while the Lancer women finished sixth overall in the team standings at the cross country nationals.

On the men's side, Matt Walters earned first team all-Canadian status with a 6th place individual finish. Walters finished the 10km course in a time of 31:35.4.

Nick Falk was the next Lancer across the line and was named a second team all-Canadian. Falk finished in a time of 32:13.4.

Other Lancer scorers across the line included Dave Meloche in 25th (32:37), Fraser Kegel right behind him in 26th (32:38), and Josh Bolton in 39th (33:02).

On the women's side, Lancer senior Jenn Corrick had another great race to cap off her five year University career as she finished 10th overall in a personal best time of 17:47.9. That finish was good enough to earn her second team all-Canadian status.

The Lancers sixth place finish was rounded out by Alexandra Moore and Meaghan Marton, who both finished in a time of 18:44, Lindsay Thomson (19:21) and Garielle Malette (19:34).

In the team competition, the Guelph Gryphons swept the team titles for the seventh consecutive year.
