The Lancer men's soccer season came to an end on Sunday afternoon following a 5-2 loss to the No. 1 York Lions in the OUA quarter-finals at York Stadium in Toronto.
The Lions took a quick lead with two goals in the first thirty minutes of the match. The Lancers held of the Lions attack for the remainder of the half, to only be down by two at the break.
York again struck first in the second with their third marker just two minutes into the half.
The final eleven minutes of the game was a flurry of activity with four goals scored. Windsor's
Adam Jameson scored his goal of the 2011 season to bring the Lancers within two in the seventy-ninth minute.
The Lions retaliated with a goal of their own just one minute later before Windsor's
Paul Frenken scored his second of the post season to again bring the Lancers within two with six minutes remaining in regulation.
The Lancers pressured the Lions defense but was unable to capitalize on any opportunities.
Before the final whistle in the game's 90th minute, York scored their final of the game on fifth year Lancer goaltender
Dan Mendonca.
Mendonca made eight saves in net for the Lancers.
