Vallée travels the globe to speak at various basketball clinics

Vallee will volunteer at local schools while visiting Africa
Lancer women's basketball head coach Chantal Vallée will be racking up some frequent flyer miles in the month of August as she travels across Canada and the globe as a guest speaker at a number of basketball clinics.

To start the month off, Coach Vallée will be a guest speaker at “Coach School”, a clinic aimed at female coaches looking to grow and develop as leaders. The clinic is sponsored by Canada Basketball and the Ontario Basketball Association, and will feature a variety of female coaches with national coaching experience, including four coaches from around the CIS.

"It is an honor to represent the University of Windsor at many high profile clinics this summer across the country,” said Vallée. “To present alongside the best coaches in Canada is a treat as well as a learning experience for me."

Following her stint in Toronto, Coach Vallée will head to Africa to assist with a clinic hosted by the Uganda Sports Federation. She will be presenting alongside coaches from around the United States, in a four day clinic presented to the African Men's and Women's national teams.

While there, Coach Vallée will volunteer in African communities and schools before speaking at a clinic in Rwanda from August 18-20, 2010.

"Having the opportunity to join such a high profile collection of American coaches and to present to other countries what we do as a Lancer program is tremendous, not only for myself as a coach, but for the profile of the Lancer program as well," continued Vallée.

The Lancer women's basketball team kicks off their 2010-11 season on Friday November 5, 2010 against the York Lions in Toronto.
