Dennis Fairall, Head Coach of the Lancer Track and Field program is pleased to announce another outstanding recruiting class for the 2010-11 season.
On the men’s side, Fairall has added three elite 800 metre runners who will don the Lancer singlet next season. London Catholic Central’s Paul LaMarra, Sarnia Northern’s Adam Sawatzky and Villanova’s Paul Janikowski have all committed to the University of Windsor.
The trio all turned in career best performances at regionals this past weekend, with LaMarra finishing first, Sawatsky second and Janikowski third in the 800m event.
“These three young men are very talented runners and all three are capable of making a big impact as freshmen,” commented Coach Fairall.
Fairall also announced that Andy Ysebaert, a Francophone Games qualifier will transfer into the Faculty of Education program from Texas State University and will be eligible to compete immediately for the Lancers. The standout shot putter has already thrown further than the current Lancer school record and will be expected to make a major impact in the CIS next season.
