The Windsor Lancer Track and Field teams swept the podium as they captured both the men's and women's OUA Championship titles on Saturday afternoon at York University.
The Lancer women returned to the podium after a year absence to take first place with 179 points, 37 points ahead of second place Western. Guelph finished third with 111.50 points.
On the men's side, Windsor captured their 12th straight provincial title with 144 total team points. Western and Guelph tied for second with 122.50 points apiece.
Fourth year sprinter Noelle Montcalm led the Lancer charge capturing four medals overall. The Windsor, ON native qualified for the national championships in all four of her events as she won three gold medals and one silver.
She placed first in the 300m with a time of 39.29, first in the 60mH in 8.40s, second in the 60m sprint with a time of 7.57, and kicked off the 4x200m relay to place first overall in a time of 1:40.09.
Bishop placed first overall in the women's 600m in a time of 1:30.79, second overall in the 1000m in 2:47.04, and anchored the 4x800m relay time to a first place finish with a time of 9:02.64.
Hunter grabbed a bronze in the 1000m at 2:48.50, a silver in the 4x400m relay (3:50.92) and a gold in the 4x800m.
In the field events, Jaideene Lowe took home the gold medal in the women's triple jump with a leap of 12.36m.
Capturing silvers in their events were Erika Reiser in the pole vault with a height of 3.86m, and Natoya Whittingham in the long jump with a jump of 5.64m.
Steffi Stephenson grabbed the bronze medal in the women's shot put with a throw of 13.07m, while Hannah Bagnall placed third in the pentathlon with 3289 points.
On the men's side, Adam Kellar took home three medals as he helped lead the Lancers to the title. Kellar captured gold in the men's 4x800m relay (7:42.60), and placed third overall in the men's 1000m in a time of 2:25.19 and 1500m with a time of 3:53.78.
Dave Weston placed second overall in the men's 3000m with a time of 8:21.34, while Mitch Tome captured bronze in the 600m with a time of 1:19.79.
In the field events, Mike Miller set a new meet record in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.93m to place first overall and take home the gold.
Anthony Dandie captured a silver in the men's pentathlon with 3603 points, while borhter Andrew Dandie grabbed a bronze in the high jump at 1.98m.
In the men's pole vault Jeff Vukasovic won the silver with a height of 4.82m.
The Lancers will now defend their National titles as they host the CIS Track & Field Championships on March 11-13th at the St. Denis Centre.
