Five Lancers qualify for CIS Championships over the weekend

Mike Miller captured a silver medal in the shot put
Five Lancers qualified for the CIS championships at track and field meetsover the weekend at the Findlay Invitational in Ohio and McGill Team Challenge in Montreal.
 
Jaideene Lowe qualified following a gold medal win in the triple jump with a distance of 11.90 metres at the Findlay Invitational in Ohio.
 
Also winning gold but not qualifying was Natoya Whittingham in long jump (5.37), Dustin Eldridge in the 600-metres (1:22.24) and Anthony Dandie in the pentathlon (3,410 po-ints).
 
Qualifying with silver medals were Noelle Montcalm in the 60-metre hurdles (8.72), Erika Reiser in pole vault (3.70) and Mike Miller in shot put (16.48).
 
The Lancer men's 4x200-metre relay team qualified for the CIS meet following a silver medal performance at the McGill Invitational.
 
Brendan Dills (21.5), Justin Keating (22.1), Chris Reid (21.9) and Shayne Rice (22.1) finished the relay in one minute, 27.93 seconds.
 
Reid also earned a silver medal in the 300-metre run, after finishing in a time of 34.73.

The Lancers will compete at the Meyo Invitational and York Challenge this coming weekend, before returning home next Saturday February 13th for the Lancer Team Challenge.
