Lancer Men capture second straight Disney World Cross Country Classic

Weston and Kellar recieved Mickey medals for placing in the Top 15
The No. 2 ranked Lancer Men's Cross Country team showed their magic at Disney World on Saturday as they captured their second straight Disney World Cross Country Classic title in Orlando, Florida.

The Lancers dominated the competition by placing seven runners in the top 10, including nine Lancers receiving coveted "Mickey" medals for finishing in the top 15.
 
The 8km course, which wound through the Wide World of Sports complex, was covered in a very fast winning time of 24:33, by 3rd year student Anthony Berkis for the individual title. This is the second week in a row that Berkis has paced his teammates to a team victory.
 
Matt Walters also had a fine performance for the Lancers, picking up the individual bronze medal by finishing the race in a time of 24:39. Also scoring for Windsor were Dave Weston (5th in 24:48), Andrew Aguanno (6th in 24:57), and Lionel Sanders (7th in 24:59).
 
Other Lancer men placing in the top 15 places in the field of 186 Southeastern U.S. College and University runners were: Nick Walters (9th), Paul Janikowski (10th), Andrew deGroot (13th) and Adam Kellar (14th).
 
On the womens' side, the Lancers placed seventh overall in the field of 25 teams. Leading the way was Ashley Kellam, who completed the 5km course in 18:40 seconds to finish 22nd out of 221 competitors. Other scorers for Windsor included, Laura Gill (43rd in 19:06), Carly Gill (47th in 19:16), Amina Oumesrour (51st in 19:19) and Alyssa Thrasher (53rd in 19:20).
 
The Lancer Women will complete their pre-season at home next Saturday at the St. Clair College Windsor Invitational at Malden Park, while the Lancer men will compete next Saturday in Ohio at Bowling Green State University's Falcon Invitational.
